Gift Certificates are a simple means for you to pre-pay for a purchase and then leave the choice of product selection and shipment delivery address to someone else (the latter step is actually optional and/or can be performed at any time now or in the future).

In brief, Gift Certificates are basically a two-step process involving:

1. The crediting of a payment amount (the gift certificate purchase) to your account
2. The optional step of transferring the credited amount to someone else (or dividing it among several recipients) for their usage.
